We began as Assualt Radio (radio that assualts your senses) but that name scared some people. We meant assualt in a good way. So we changed our name to Soma FM. Because we started in San Francisco's Soma district, and also because Soma is a magical potion that people consumed in Brave New World, while dancing to an electric music box.
