the interactive element:
The layout of Come Into the Light is designed to enhance participation.
At all times there are interactive light displays (things that change when people come near them, and respond to sound). People can interact with our radio station, and every evening/night there will be a special theme event in our Tropical Bar. We will also have video performances (projected onto a 20' video screen). The video installation includes TV screens with abstract images from our camp. A video fun house mirror, as it were. Our radio station calls people to come visit and share stories. We have snacks and stuff to drink to share with the weary travelors. In the heat of the day, travelers can come into our large shade structure, attached to our Bedford Military Troop Transport vehicle which is the base for our Tropical Barter Bar with a cooling mist system. Our Bar will host special theme events each evening, including Disco Nite, Showgirls Nite, and several multimedia UFO/Science Fiction events. (We will show videos from classic 1970 Science Fiction shows UFO, Space 1999 and such). Our stage is our radio station. A virtual stage broadcasting to the entire community. We expect to have several live musical performances, storytelling, and philosophy roundtable discussions. This year, we're even taking requests over CB and Talkabout Radios. |
